FAQs

  • Call 972-875-4700 to be connected to one of Dr. Sullivan’s assistants. If they are with a patient please leave a detailed message with name, date of birth and reason for your call.

  • Most calls are returned the same day unless received late in the day and are not urgent.

If you are having a medical emergency please call 911.

If you have an urgent matter after hours, the answering service transfers calls directly to Dr. Sullivan.

  • No, you do not. Although Dr. Sullivan sees patients in consultation at ERMC, many of her patients go to other facilities and then follow up with her after discharge. This is especially true for patients who’ve had heart attacks since they will be treated at another facility for that. It is easy to get records and get up to speed quickly.

When it comes to chest pain, it is recommended you go to the nearest emergency room and go through triage so that in the event of a heart attack you can be transferred to the closest faciiity to get urgent intervention. For non-emergency visits, you should go to the facility that is most convenient and comfortable for you.

  • Yes, if you are admitted at Ennis Regional Medical Center, Dr. Sullivan can consult in your care. The hospitalist team will call Dr. Sullivan if cardiology consultation is indicated.

  • Most insurances accepted, please call and we will verify for you before making an appointment.

We accept self-pay patients, and offer a cash discount.

  • Some insurances require a referral, some do not. It is important when you call that we have your correct insurance information so that the appropriate referral can be obtained before your visit.

For self-pay patients, since there is not an insurance plan to dictate that, a referral is never needed.

  • Many people have heart disease of which they are unaware, and early detection can prevent worse outcomes. Screening for heart disease, and regular evaluation for symptoms of heart disease is part of every visit. Many medications and procedures are specialized to cardiology, and knowing when to use what test and when to be referred for more advanced therapy is the job of a general cardiologist.

  • We always need to evaluate you first to asses whether the stress test is appopriate, and to determine the kind of stress test to do. There is not just one kind.

  • We charge a fee if appointments are not cancelled prior to 24 hours of the appointment.

If there is a 24 hour cancellation notification, we are able to offer that appointment to someone waiting for an earlier appointment. This is important as many patients would like to be seen sooner.
